AirWatch Video is the latest application in the AirWatch EMM suite. The secure video distribution app integrates with content delivery network (CDN) operators to simplify distribution, security and management of internal enterprise videos.
“AirWatch Video brings a traditionally costly and complicated undertaking into a simple-to-manage product that integrates with the EMM solutions our customers already use,” said John Marshall, senior vice president and general manager, AirWatch by VMware, in a press release. With AirWatch Video, users will have the ability to provide a scalable, secure way to distribute relevant videos to end users, manage access and sharing permissions for sensitive video content and deliver updates in real-time.
Video content for enterprise is quickly surpassing printed materials as the preferred medium for communication. It’s now commonplace for companies to produce videos to update the company on internal announcements instead of sending a printed document. In fact, AirWatch leverages video to record meetings, collaborate with employees at other AirWatch offices and demonstrate new products and features.
According to a video produced by comScore, in 2013, one in six videos were watched on a mobile device, a notable change from the previous year when one in 12 were watched on a mobile device. Videos have the power to engage viewers through multiple senses and can attract a wider variety of learners. An email sent with a video attached to it is 96% more likely to be clicked through, according to comScore, which speaks to the attention a video can attract, as opposed to an all-text email.
As more companies leverage the power of video to transform internal communications, they will need a way to organize, distribute and secure a growing library of video content. With AirWatch Video, IT administrators can restrict viewing to Wi-Fi, customize content access by user group and collect usage and engagement statistics, all from a central console.
“AirWatch Video brings a traditionally costly and complicated undertaking into a simple-to-manage product that integrates with the EMM solutions our customers already use,” Marshall said.
End users will experience an intuitive video sharing experience with options including view recent or trending videos, favorite videos and download videos for offline viewing.
AirWatch Video will be available for iOS and Android devices by the end of this year. Learn more in the video below.
