Analyst firm IDC released its Worldwide Enterprise Mobility Management Software Market Shares 2014 report that ranks the top 15 EMM vendors by revenue in the market. According to the report, AirWatch by VMware has the largest EMM market share in the world and has grown its market share by the highest percentage year over year (YoY), jumping from fourth in 2013 to first in 2014.
The report provides a competitive analysis of the top five vendors that experienced the highest growth in market share from 2013 to 2014. It also elaborates on the market trends and insightful strategies that helped shape the 2014 landscape. According to the report, the EMM market overall is accelerating, growing from $1.1 billion to $1.4 billion in 2014, which represents a 27.2 percent YoY growth.
IDC analyst Stacy Crook writes that AirWatch grew its EMM revenue by 78 percent year over year and is the only vendor with a double-digit market share. The report notes that AirWatch tops other competitors in the market with its strengths in the cloud, diverse mobility ecosystem and industry focus. The VMware acquisition of AirWatch has played a significant role in its marketshare, providing the ability to deliver applications and data to any endpoint device.
