451 Research recently released a report that recaps VMware’s Business Mobility event last month in San Francisco. The report, titled “VMware expands its reach into the mobile enterprise,” details the event news and VMware’s mobility leadership position, strategy and momentum.
According to the report, the mobile industry is growing faster than ever. Chris Hazleton of 451 Research captured the key highlights from event, including VMware’s commitment to iOS in the enterprise. This iOS commitment will help simplify app development and provide security and management at the highest level. With this strategic focus, along with 15 new ACE (App Configuration for Enterprise) partners, will help quicken iOS app development and improve application adoption in the enterprise.
The report also detailed AirWatch customer stories from Starbucks and Stryker, which were presented during the event. Starbucks cut the time it takes employees to complete inventory management in half by deploying inventory-tracking apps on AirWatch-managed devices. Stryker built more than 116 internal sales apps and is able to deploy, manage and update these apps with AirWatch.
