Our July 27 webinar ‘Your Questions Answered: What iOS 9 and Mac OS X El Capitan Mean for Your Business’ featured iOS and OS X experts answering questions about the upcoming releases, public betas and impact on businesses. If you missed the webinar, check out a preview of questions answered below and watch the recording.

How can you prevent users from updating to beta versions of iOS 9 or OS X El Capitan?

For business critical devices, you may need to prevent users from updating devices to the publicly available iOS 9 and OS X El Capitan betas. For supervised devices, you can push a configuration profile to prevent the installation of unmanaged profiles to prevent users from installing the betas. For BYOD devices, we recommend that you keep your end users informed about the beta program and any known issues they may experience. You can use the compliance engine to detect if devices have upgraded to beta versions, and automatically send a message reminding users to not upgrade business critical devices. We recommend that our customers follow the iOS 9 & OS X El Capitan post in myAirWatch to learn about updates to our console and applications, as well as known issues.

What is the best way to test iOS 9 and OS X El Capitan in my organization?

AirWatch has made test plans available to our customers to help them test iOS 9 and OS X El Capitan. One feature that many will need to test is email clients to ensure the latest version of Exchange is working properly. We also recommend that you test all business critical processes and applications.
