On this second day of our Appy Holidays series, we’re excited to feature our Q&A with Jeff Fildey of GoFormz, the app that helps companies turn paper forms into smart mobile forms. GoFormz is a member of ACE, a community focused on driving a more consistent, open and simple way to configure and secure mobile app adoption in business.
Read our Q&A with Jeff to learn more about GoFormz, what it means to be “globally localized” and a Wyoming teacher’s unique way of simultaneously cutting costs and boosting student success.
Q: Who needs GoFormz and why?
Jeff: Any individual or company that uses paper forms needs GoFormz. Whether it is the small business owner of a garage-door repair shop or the world’s largest retailer, using our Smart Mobile Forms solution reduces costs and saves time. Our customers love us because we increase employee productivity, make data more accessible and enable more agile business decisions. Because the mobile forms can look exactly like the original paper forms, GoFormz is easy to use and requires little to no training.
Q: What role does GoFormz play in the mobile enterprise?
Jeff: GoFormz streamlines any paper-based workflow in the mobile enterprise. The mobile workforce has been under-served, with limited access to truly modernized and appropriate tools. We eliminate the need for using paper forms, and we empower the mobile enterprise to use tablets and smartphones to fill out forms and digitally capture data. Digital form data is instantly accessible (and usable) by the rest of the enterprise stack and systems, providing whole new concepts around how a mobile enterprise can leverage real-time data.
Q: What is the biggest misconception you encounter for businesses deploying mobile apps to workers?
Jeff: The mobile enterprise trend will not be fully serviced or solved by hundreds of individual mobile apps. Like the transition from mainframes to client server systems, and from client-servers to SaaS systems, we believe there is a new class of systems like GoFormz designed from the ground up to better serve the mobile enterprise. These new systems have rich, user-centric front end mobile apps that are tightly coupled to enterprise-class backend platforms.
Q: What is the one thing people don’t know about your company and/or app?
Jeff: GoFormz is used in over 174 countries! This is possible because we are able to turn your paper forms into exact digital versions (including language) for your mobile device. For example, if you are a French company and your devices use French keyboards and your paper forms are in French, your GoFormz Mobile Forms will be in French.
We have coined the term Globally Localized, meaning that our product and solution is localized for anyone across the globe to use, regardless of what language is on their forms.
Q: What’s the coolest use of your app in 2015?
Jeff: GoFormz has many customers, ranging from small business owners to Fortune 500 companies in various industries such as construction, telecommunications and retail. But some of my favorite use cases come from users finding creative ways to leverage GoFormz. For example, a Wyoming school teacher recently had her budget cut and she was on the search for a new, more cost-effective way to give her students lesson plans, assignments and permission slips. She started searching for an electronic solution and found GoFormz. She quickly discovered our Public Share feature and was able to send out her assignments and forms digitally via links in emails. She set links to expire on specific dates, and this turned out to be a great way to ensure that her students completed their work on time. Pretty cool.
