Best in Biz has named AirWatch senior vice president and general manager John Marshall Executive of the Year at the Best in Biz International Awards 2014. AirWatch also received a silver award for Company of the Year. To determine winners, a panel of judges made up of industry analysts and members of the press reviewed each entrant’s achievements, innovations, discoveries and results over the last year.
Over the past year, Marshall has achieved significant milestones for AirWatch — namely, the decision to join VMware’s End User Computing division in February 2014. AirWatch products complement VMware’s desktop portfolio, providing a comprehensive EMM platform that seamlessly and securely connects enterprise resources and mobile devices. VMware also brings scale – with more than 500,000 customers and 75,000 partners around the world.
To support rapidly growing markets around the world, Marshall also expanded international support by opening AirWatch offices in Miami and Singapore. The Miami office works with more than 300 Latin American organizations already leveraging AirWatch in their business operations. AirWatch provides sales, services and support in local languages, as well as fully translated solutions.
“The quality of entries in Best in Biz Awards 2014 International was very high in sectors that are critical to the future of the economy,” said Damon Kitney, business editor at The Australian. “In the end, my choice came down to which business will have the most transformative impact, and it was hard to split them because they all are doing this in different ways.”
AirWatch has also been recognized by numerous reputable industry organizations for its wide array of mobility solutions. In May 2014, industry analyst Gartner, Inc. positioned AirWatch as a leader in its 2014 Magic Quadrant for EMM for the fourth consecutive year. Earlier this year, Frost & Sullivan presented AirWatch with the 2013 North American Frost & Sullivan Award for Growth Leadership, awarded to companies demonstrating excellence in capturing the highest annual compound growth rate for the past three years. In May 2014, AirWatch also received STIG approval – one of only two approved EMM providers to do so – to operate on U.S. Department of Defense networks, a testament to Marshall’s continued focus on mobile security. Under his leadership, AirWatch has become the largest enterprise mobility management provider in the world with customers in more than 150 countries.
More than 200 public and private companies representing all sectors of the economy from more than 30 countries competed in Best in Biz Awards’ second annual International program. Winners of Best in Biz Awards 2014 International were determined based on scoring from a panel of 27 judges drawn from top-tier news, business, finance, and technology publications and media outlets from 17 countries, with all continents represented.
