Enterprise mobility news recap: August 25 – 29

Mobile technology is changing by the minute; sometimes you just can’t catch it all. Here’s what you might have missed this week:

  • Sanjay Poonen, VMware EVP and GM of End-user Computing , breaks down the upcoming innovation agenda for VMware in this guest blog post. And even more news came out of VMworld, where VMware announced plans to further its relationship with HP to help simplify mobile app delivery.
  • During VMworld, VMware announced the company’s intentions to purchase CloudVolumes. CloudVolumes’ SVP and Chief Product Officer Harry Labana tells all in this blog post.
  • “Smartphones sold in California will be required by mid-2015 to come with a pre-installed feature to deter thieves,” writes the Wall Street Journal’s Nick Shchetko. This often debated “kill-switch” is finally becoming a reality, at least in California for now.
  • Apple has officially set the date for its latest event. Mark your calendars for Sept. 9.

  • AirWatch is heading to South Africa Sept. 10 – 12 for the Gartner Symposium ITxpo Cape Town.
