Introducing AirWatch Mobile Game Changers

Documenting mobile technology’s transformative effects

Mobile technology is incredibly pervasive. It has fundamentally changed how we communicate, work, learn and live. And for the first AirWatch #MobileGameChanger stories, released today, mobile has inspired changes that have led to greater equality in education, further-reaching healthcare and better work-life balance.

Today, AirWatch recognizes three organizations for their innovation in the use of mobile technology: Los Angeles Unified School District, Intermountain Healthcare and Merck.

Mobile devices have become just another element of the everyday business landscape – a commuter taking a call or taking notes in an app, or a retail clerk checking inventory or ringing up a customer. A recent survey found smartphone users in the U.K. carry out 221 tasks per day on mobile devices, totaling an average three hours and 16 minutes. But it’s difficult to quantify how each of these simple actions can add up to such sweeping change. Within a large organization, it takes strategic thinkers who are willing to embrace new technology and blaze a new trail, sometimes before they are certain where it will lead. These organizations then pave the way for others to improve their own processes, becoming models of technology’s transformative effects.

Our #MobileGameChanger series documents the journeys of the organizations that have embraced mobile, not as a business tool, but as a new paradigm that has the power to enable astounding productivity, connect people in new ways and change lives. These are the Mobile Game Changers.

Over the next few days, we’ll be sharing their stories on the AirWatch Blog. Here’s the first one.

Intermountain Healthcare

This 22-hospital system based in Utah implemented the first-ever electronic flight bags for an air ambulance service, significantly reducing cargo weight and enabling more remote emergency rescues in the Intermountain West, often in extreme weather conditions.

The #MobileGameChanger series will document the change mobile is inspiring in organizations across a wide variety of industries. Look for new videos in early 2015, and watch the inaugural series on our featured customer webpage, YouTube channel, or in the AirWatch TV app.
