John Loparco joins AirWatch to oversee growth in Latin America
John Loparco has joined AirWatch as new business director for Latin America. Loparco will lead AirWatch sales and partnerships in Latin America. Loparco is a veteran of the EMC federation – he worked for 14 years at EMC2, where he helped establish the company as a leader in Latin America. Prior to joining AirWatch, Loparco co-founded Illuminate360, a big data and advanced analytics company focused on enabling organizations to derive insights from their big data and digital asset investments.
“I am very excited about this new opportunity,” Loparco said. “It is great to be back with the EMC federation and be part of AirWatch by VMware, one of the fastest growing companies in the country. Latin America is a growing market and mobility is really taking root in the region. I enjoy working with this territory and its complexity, there is a great opportunity for expansion, development and capturing the growth of enterprise mobility management.”
451 Research: AirWatch is a “key mobility player” in Latin America
According to a recent 451 Research report, AirWatch has laid the groundwork for success in Latin America with strategic partnerships, a rapidly growing customer base, a complete portfolio of EMM solutions and pre- and post-sales support. The market for smartphones and supporting technologies in Latin America is growing rapidly, according to 451 Research, which projects that by 2018, two out of three mobile devices in use will be smartphones.
The growth of smartphone adoption means enterprises are looking for mobility management solutions, and AirWatch offers a complete portfolio of mobility management tools for enterprises, from the early stages of adoption to more advanced deployments. That makes AirWatch a “key mobility player in Latin America,” according to 451 Research analyst Raúl Castañón-Martínez.
Other factors that will contribute to AirWatch’s continued growth in the region include the acquisition by VMware in 2014, a range of employees dedicated to Latin America customers, an inclusive customer support model and business and operations developments in the region.
