Video: Recap of the Business Mobility Summit

At the Business Mobility Summit last week, VMware’s Pat Gelsinger, Sanjay Poonen, Noah Wasmer and Robin Matlock described the current mobility challenges, the most important technologies to the future of IT and VMware’s value in enabling business transformation through mobility. At the summit event, the presentation covered the below five components:

In the presentation, CEO Pat Gelsinger provided the cloud and mobility landscape and elaborated on the meaning of “one cloud, any application, any device.” EUC vice president, Sanjay Poonen described the purpose and drive for the Business Mobility Summit. He also shared VMware’s value and commitment to consumer grade experience, master heterogeneity and trusted infrastructure when enabling an enterprise cloud infrastructure.

Noah Wasmer introduced VMware’s Identity Management solution. During his Identity Manager demo, Wasmer showed the challenges people face with complex log in processes shared several app examples. With Identity Manager, IT administrators can easily deploy single sign on to solve these daily challenges for both web and native applications.

Chief Marketing Officer, Robin Matlock moderated a customer panel discussing the growing role of mobile in IT and in an enterprise strategy. Panelist Roger Kibbe, who is senior director of omnichannel architecture at Gap, commented that mobility is a key toolset in his company’s strategy and vision. “Now, if it’s [a strategy] about a mobile app, the eyes don’t roll, they open up with excitement…[Mobility] has changed the conversation.”
