As enterprises embrace adoption of Microsoft Office 365 to drive business and alleviate the complexity and costs associated with on-premise Exchange environments, achieving a balance between identity management and user experience is often difficult.

AirWatch Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM) combined with VMware Identity Manager provides an industry-first adaptive access control framework that ensures all applications, including O365, can only be accessed by managed and compliant devices. AirWatch also enables end users with self-service provisioning of O365 access for a seamless and automated experience; helping IT easily scale O365 across the organization.

With VMware Identity Manager, IT can easily federate their existing on-premise corporate identity for automatic single sign-on (SSO) into O365 applications. With SSO, users will only need to enter credentials once into their mobile devices to access apps such as Outlook, OneNote or Lync. Additionally, organizations also have the option to leverage digital certificates for complete removal of password entry by the end user.

Also included in the AirWatch and O365 integration is data protection. Through the use of O365 app deployment through the AirWatch Catalog, AirWatch enforces app containerization and encryption to prevent data loss using the native platform controls for iOS, Android and Windows. Furthermore, AirWatch provides IT with the option to provide conditional access to only compliant and managed devices and users.
