Welcome to AirWatch Connect 2015. I’m Maddie Cook and this is your daily recap of AirWatch Connect Atlanta!

Today we started in high gear as AirWatch and VMware executives took the stage for the first keynote. John Marshall, Sanjay Poonen, Pat Gelsinger and Alan Dabbiere discussed the changes over the past year, spanning from the integration, to the fast-paced advances in mobility and cloud technologies.

During the keynote, Marshall spoke about the ongoing momentum for AirWatch and VMware. Gelsinger continued the conversation during his presentation and shared statistics on the increasing number of connect users and connected devices- looking back historically to 90s and down the road the next several years.

Also during Gelsinger’s time on stage, he discussed the industry’s focus on enterprise app development and the importance of developing meaningful partnerships in the mobile ecosystem. During Poonen’s presentation, he discussed the ACE program and announced the addition of 20 new members, one of which includes SAP.

Earlier this morning, AirWatch announced new features for its Windows 10 support that includes Azure AD integration, bulk enrollment, Enterprise Data Protection and more. The Mobile Security Alliance (MSA), launched today, is a group of security-focused organizations to help make your EMM experience more secure. Members of MSA benefit from mobile security at the device, application and network levels. Current participating members of the program include Palo Alto Networks, Check Point and FireEye.

Later in the day, attendees participated in breakout sessions that highlighted Apple, Windows 10 and the latest releases from AirWatch. Coming up tomorrow for AirWatch Connect, Noah Wasmer will present the Wednesday product keynote and share detailed features of AirWawtch 8.1 and beyond. Following his keynote, Adam Savage takes the stage, an individual who you may have seen on the Discovery Channel. Tyler Shields of Forrester Research will also speak in his session titled “Mobile Security in 2015 and Beyond.” Shields research focuses mobility and enterprise applications.
