On February 24, VMware AirWatch received Common Criteria Certification against Version 2.0 of the Mobile Device Management (MDM) Protection Profile and Mobile Device Management Agent. To reach this level of product certification, AirWatch MDM and AirWatch MDM Agent were rigorously tested by a third-party independent laboratory against the rigid specifications set out by the respective NIAP Protection Profiles.
This certification enables AirWatch MDM for National Security System procurement, according to the Committee on National Systems Security Policy #11. AirWatch MDM and MDM Agent were also listed on the Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSFC) Components Listing, available here.
The AirWatch Security and Best Practices team strives to meet the highest levels of product fortification against the most rigorous of regulatory standards. In 2016, AirWatch launched an official Certifications and Compliance Program to steer these efforts. Within the last year, the AirWatch R&D team achieved third-party independent review of FIPS Validated Module usage in MDM and application software development kits (SDK), a Department of Defense DISA Security Technical Implementation Guide, Common Criteria Certification, Commercial Solutions for Classified Component listing and many others.
We are excited about this achievement and the opportunity to meet the strict security requirements of our government customers. In addition to Common Criteria certification, we encourage you to read more about the new innovations just announced for VMware Workspace ONE and AirWatch.
